Richmond College Clinches Championship Victory Led by Malsha Tharupathi

In a thrilling finale at the SSC grounds, Richmond College, under the dynamic leadership of Malsha Tharupathi, emerged as champions of the inter-school under 19 division one Tier A cricket tournament. Their hard-fought victory came as they outplayed Trinity on the first innings.

Throughout the three-day game, Richmond College showcased their dominance, posting a commendable total of 304 all out in response to Trinity's 203 all out in their first innings, securing a significant lead of a hundred runs. Despite Trinity's resurgence in the second innings, declaring at 254 for 8 wickets, Richmond's pursuit of an ambitious target of 150 runs in 11 overs was thwarted, with the match concluding with no decision, but Richmond clinching the title by virtue of their first innings lead.

The batting prowess of Trinity was evident on the third day, particularly with a valiant knock of 96 by National under 19 player Supun Waduge, who was eventually dismissed by leg spinner Yuri Koththiogoda, breaking through the formidable Trinity lineup.
